Sports is synonymous with fitness, which can affect a number of issues in terms of quality of life. Fitness is defined as the quality of being suitable to fulfill a particular role or task. While in sports, the focus is on performance in a given event, we can borrow from those same best practices as a means to increase the quality and longevity of one’s life. While being physically fit does not necessarily require a facility, fitness can be maximized through regular participation in a facility that is well equipped, provides quality programming and has well trained coaches and support staff. The World Sports Alliance Global Fitness Centers are designed to be global centers of excellence in the field of physical fitness. These facilities provide access to the latest technology in terms of programs, facilities and coaching that is available. World Sports Alliance understands that the world is a better place when we all play sports, but that if you cannot play a sport, you can reap the benefits of being physically fit through regular participation in a well designed fitness program. While the WSA Global Fitness Centers are designed for the youth athletes, members of the community are encouraged to utilize the facilities as a means to support Sustainable Development Goal number 3; Good Health and Well Being.

Health and fitness is a key component of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Why else do we sustain the planet if not for the sake of life itself? Fitness addresses many preventable diseases which ultimately decreases the cost of healthcare of a given population. When health care is addressed from a preventative maintenance standpoint, such as Type II Diabetes and complications from High Blood Pressure, more resources can be directed toward infectious diseases and cancer. It is a universally accepted fact that if a given population is healthy through fitness, multiple positive benefits come along with it. World Sports Alliance is dedicated to human empowerment through sports and we try in every way to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals as it relates to health. Like a sport, we approach good health as both an offensive measure by being proactive for the sake of vitality, as well as a defense against preventable health related issues. Fitness should be viewed not as an option but as a necessary component of a quality life. World Sports Alliance seeks to make fitness an integral part of life, as well as an entertaining form of recreation.
